Tours cost $10.00 per adult and $7.00 for young people ages 6 – 18. Children under 6 years old will not be admitted to the main house but are welcome to tour the grounds and out-buildings (including weaving room, summer kitchen, school house and barn).
Each tour is approximately one hour and will showcase the many antiques on the property including a bed made by Abraham Lincoln’s father, original pieces from the plantation, and discuss important architectural features. A one-room schoolhouse, summer kitchen, weaving and quilting room, and the original barn will also be shown to guests. Antiquities, including the Emmick Plantation House Cookbook edited by Retha Emmick Newell, are available for purchase in the Emmick Plantation House Gift Shop. Light snacks and beverages are complementary.
Private Tour Groups
School groups (grades 2 through college) are welcome to schedule special tours of the house and grounds (subject to availability). Special educational programming and activities may be available upon request. Please note, a 4:1 chaperone to student ratio is observed for grades 2 – 8. A minimum of 15 participants is required, and the cost is $6 per student under 18 and $9 per adult/chaperone.
Special interest groups of 10+ are also welcome to schedule private tours (subject to availability). The regular fee applies at $10 per adult.
